There was so much going on with this project, a redesign and restructuring of the site for the Surface Design Association (SDA). SDA is a membership organization that promotes awareness and appreciation of textile-inspired art and design and their site is a comprehensive resource for its thousands of members from across the globe.
Just some of the features include a searchable directory of members that pulled from SDA’s CRM, content restricted to certain levels of members, member galleries, a searchable calendar, a blog with comments, and a customized back-end interface.
The site included so many features that, as lead developer, I had to created a detailed spec to manage the status and notes about each. This helped me communicate with the project manager and helped ensure that I had the latest details about every feature, large and small.
A rewarding aspect of this project was watching the site come to life as the site filled with content, the beautiful artwork created by SDA’s members.
